Ashdown Brontë Association (A.B.A.)

The Ashdown Brontë Association (A.B.A.) is the parents association of Ashdown Lodge and Brontë House School.

The A.B.A. co-ordinate many varied and enjoyable fund-raising events throughout the school year. These benefit all our children from Pre-Nursery to Year 6.

The elected officers and members meet around twice a term to plan events and agree how funds are spent.

Minutes from these meetings are displayed on our notice boards situated in each car park and outside year 3H classroom. You will also find them in letters and minutes Meeting dates are published in the minutes and will also be advertised in the ABA section of the Weekly Bulletin.

The current officers are::

Lisa Shaw, Chair, mother of Amie in year 5

Suzie Tarleton, Secretary, mother of Millie in year 5 and Louis in year 3

Mandy Bowling, Treasurer, mother of Oscar in year 3

Christine Hodgson, Vice Treasurer, mother of Ellie Young in year 4

Kristy Downs is the staff representative.

We recognise that not everyone can commit to attending committee meetings but there are many other ways that you can be involved :-

You can attend one of our events. These will appear on our future events page and as the time approaches, detail will be on the notice boards, in the Weekly Bulletin and when appropriate, by separate letter sent home with your child.

You can volunteer to help at one of our events by spending half an hour on a stall at either the Spring/Summer or Christmas Fair. Or why not try your hand in the kitchen serving bacon butties at Christmas or cooking burgers on the Bar B Q in summer?

You could provide a raffle prize for one of our major fairs.

Perhaps you have in mind another way that you could help us - all ideas are welcome

Remember, it doesn't matter how much time you have to give or if you have never been involved before - Every little helps and makes a big difference.
